ROLE OVERVIEW

DirectPath Recruitment has been exclusively retained by a premier Tier 1 Contractor to secure an experienced Site Manager for a flagship Hyperscale Data Centre Development in Groningen, Netherlands. 

Data centre projects offer some of the most advanced technical environments and robust pipelines in modern construction. FINANCIAL BREAKDOWN & PERSONAL SAVINGS

Competitive Gross Base Salary: €80,000 – €100,000 (dependent on experience). 

Project Allowance (+20%): Adds €16,000 – €20,000 in direct gross cash annually while on project assignment.

Annual Retention Bonus (+10%): Adds €8,000 – €10,000 in direct gross cash annually (paid every 6 months).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations & Execution: Lead and manage daily on-site construction activities on a hyperscale data centre, ensuring engineering works progress strictly in line with project schedules and client quality criteria.

Subcontractor Coordination: Act as the primary on-site lead directing specialized subcontractors, trades, and plant resources to maximize productivity and meet tight turnaround schedules.

Health & Safety Leadership: Champion and enforce strict on-site health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) standards. Review subcontractor risk assessments, method statements, and lead daily coordination briefings.

Progress Reporting: Monitor site outputs against master schedules, tracking baseline targets and escalating design, material, or engineering risks to the Project Manager or Contracts Manager.

Quality Assurance: Oversee ongoing quality inspections, managing material delivery records, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and final client snagging lists. 

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Essential Criteria:

Degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or an equivalent technical building discipline.

Minimum 10 years of experience operating as a Site Manager or Senior Site Superintendent on large-scale industrial, infrastructure, or heavy civil developments.

Proven capability to drive multi-disciplinary trade teams on high-intensity site schedules under pressure.

EU Passport Holders Only (Required due to immediate international project deployment). 

Desirable Criteria:

Direct previous experience on Data Centre, Pharma, or High-Tech Industrial construction projects.

Valid SMSTS / MSIC or First Aid training certifications.

Lifting Supervisor or Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) training.

Strong digital capability, including familiarity with BIM strategies, collaborative data environments (CDE), or scheduling tools.
